PHULKARI
Phulkari embroidery or ‘flower work’ is a community craft in Punjab, India. Designs and techniques are passed from one generation of women to another in the villages of North India. The motifs, colors and patterns used in phulkari have religious and magical significance, and there is folklore associated with various kinds of phulkari designs. Lost City took the intricate diamond motif and hand embroidered it on muslin in variations of metallic and silk thread.
